My Name is Cindy Almendarez, a lifelong Texan born in San Antonio and raised in Fort Worth. For the last 11 years I have been raising my family in this wonderful community of Bedford. I am married, the mother of two children who attend Bedford Junior High. I am a 3rd generation small business owner here in Bedford, who has a passion for service to my clients and to my community. I am so committed to my community that I have decided to volunteer my time to serve on the Bedford City Council.
I have been active in various HEB ISD PTAs as my children have grown up in the local schools, I have previous volunteer experience with Meals on Wheels and Mission Central. I currently serve on the City of Bedford Community Affairs Commission (CAC). If you follow the City of Bedford Neighborhood Group and the City of Bedford City Services pages on Facebook you may have seen me (masked) working to support our local businesses.
Prior to starting my own business here in Bedford I worked for the City of Fort Worth and the General Services Administration (GSA). I also have six years of experience as a coordinator for an international corporation as well as three years of experience with a non-profit. I believe that my business experience will help me in dealing with the challenges of making the right decisions to promote financial efficiency and solving the infrastructure problems we face.
I have been closely following the recent events happening in the city with the changes in City Council over the past year and a half and I support their new direction of focusing on supporting the citizen initiatives of no more apartments and creating new sales tax revenue through liquor sales. I strongly support the Council's approach on economic development by making Bedford a destination with the new plan for Bedford Commons. Yet, I feel there is still much to be done, especially in improving our street and water infrastructure, improving city services and providing more support for our Police and Fire so that Bedford is a much safer community. I want to be a voice for the residents and be a part of moving Bedford forward and helping to change the future of Bedford for the better.
I need your support. If you’re interested in volunteering or would like a yard sign please contact me by phone or e-mail. If you have some time in the next three months to volunteer please click here and fill out the online form. If you can make a contribution please know that there is no such thing as a donation too small.
I ask for your support by voting for Cindy on May 1, 2021. I look forward to serving as your City Councilwoman for Place 1.
